In this masterclass, Natasha will share insight into her artistic practice making work for young audiences with a focus on her long-standing intergenerational dance practice. Natasha Gilmore will share practical insight into the methods she has used to create work from her growing body of internationally successful performance, installation and film work, with a focus on Family Portrait plus an insight into her work for early years and making work with and for children with complex needs.
The discussion will explore Natasha’s successful approach to harnessing the creative opportunities working with different ages children, teenagers, adults and older adults, together with her experience in meeting the challenges this presents.

About the Artist
Natasha Gilmore is an internationally renowned choreographer and Artistic Director of award-winning company Barrowland Ballet, one of Scotland’s most exciting contemporary dance theatre companies.
Natasha has been recognised for her developing practice in contemporary dance work with and for neuro-diverse audiences and children with complex needs. Her production Playful Tiger, for young people with severe complex needs, was met with critical acclaim performing across the world. including Edinburgh’s International Children’s Festival; ASSITEJ Artistic Gathering, Norway; Baboro Festival, Ireland; and Takeoff Festival, England. Recognised as a world-leader in this field, she has delivered presentations on creating work with and for this audience at high profile seminars including ASSITEJ Japan, IPAY USA and Seminar Dance Hus Norway.
