AFCA Arts Center proudly presents the 11th edition of Hakawy International Arts Festival For Children
10 performances from Egypt and France ranging from different performing arts disciplines like theater, storytelling, music, and dance come together for a special edition of Hakawy International Arts Festival for you and your family.
AFCA Arts Center was established in 2004 by Mohamed El-Ghawy in an attempt to fill the gap of education through arts & culture for children in Egypt and help foster their creativity through different art forms.
Working in three axes, AFCA Arts Center provides multiple art projects that help in the development of the art scene for children in Egypt.
AFCA Arts School: through a series of workshops in theater, storytelling, visual arts, and culinary arts. AFCA organizes artistic clubs at schools around the year for children from 4 to 18 years old in three different languages, English, Arabic, and French.
AFCA in Schools: we provide training for teachers at school to better enhance their teaching methods and incorporate art within education.
AFCA Arts School out of Cairo
In-Line with our mission at AFCA to give access to arts and culture for children around Egypt, decentralize the arts and culture, and spread it around the country, AFCA Arts School out of Cairo started with providing theater and storytelling workshops to children in other governorates around the country.
The first phase of the project started at El-Minya, where we covered all the five cultural centers of the Association of Upper Egypt for Education and Development (AUEED). During AFCA’s time there we worked with the children on their personal stories through storytelling and theater workshops. We are delighted to have a group of children performing the stories they have worked on during the 11th edition of Hakawy International Arts Festival for Children in El-Minya.
AFCA Arts School out of Cairo is a project funded by The European Union, in cooperation with the European Union National Institutes for Culture (EUNIC) in Egypt.
